Is Medicare accepted?
Yes, we gladly accept Medicare. Please note that Medicare may
pay for all or only a portion of your treatment, depending upon the
specifics of your plan. In order for us to bill Medicare directly,
you must fill out and sign the proper forms. Services billed to
certain HMO plans may not be covered; if this is the case, you will
be responsible for payment.
Is Medicaid accepted?
Please check the insurance list on any Center page or contact
your preferred location to confirm.

What are acceptable forms of payment?
MedExpress accepts cash, checks and most major credit cards.
Regional variance may exist. Contact the center near you for
payment option details.
What if I don't have insurance?
MedExpress accepts payment at the time of service for those who
do not have insurance.
How are auto or worker's compensation claims processed?
Accidental claims, such as Worker's Compensation and Motor
Vehicle Accidents, may be filed with only one primary reimbursement
source. Although we bill the primary source you indicate, you are
ultimately responsible for all charges not covered.
How will I know if my insurance company covers the cost of
services?
Once MedExpress submits your claim for services provided, you
will receive an Explanation of Benefits from the insurance company
that describes how your claim was processed, and the amount that
you are responsible for paying. lf you are responsible for paying
an amount, you will receive a statement from MedExpress.
What is an Urgent Care Services/S9088 charge?
Also called an S-Code, the Urgent Care charge represents a
contracted agreement with your insurance company that covers the
additional costs of providing urgent care services. Extended hours
of operation and a broader range of services than other available
healthcare options (such as x-rays, labs, and the presence of an on
site physician at all times) all factor into this charge.
What should I expect regarding co-pay?
At the time of service, a MedExpress Front Office Assistant
collects the co-pay amount, as determined by your insurance
company.
MedExpress accepted my insurance card, so why do I have a
balance?
MedExpress will submit your information to the insurance you
have provided. However, if MedExpress is not In-Network with your
insurance company, you may still owe a balance once the insurance
company has covered the out-of-network portion for your services.
To verify that your insurance considers MedExpress In-Network or to
confirm your Plan's specific details about co-insurance or
deductibles, please check with your insurance company. You can also
call the MedExpress location you plan to visit to confirm network
status with your plan.
My co-pay is usually lower. Why is it higher this time?
Co-pay amounts can vary depending on the details of your
insurance plan. Emergency visits, Urgent Care visits, and
appointments with your primary care provider may all differ. Please
check with your insurance company to verify the details of your
plan.
Why did I receive a bill from a laboratory?
While MedExpress has the capability to do many labs on site,
some circumstances require that we draw blood here and forward to a
lab for processing. This lab will generate a separate charge, based
on the test that needs to be completed.
