MedExpress Opens First Center Under New Name in Largo
December 21 2010
As Doctor's Walk-In Clinic (DWIC) transitions to MedExpress
Urgent Care, the first center within the Tampa region to operate
under the official MedExpress title opens today in Largo. With the
opening of the new center, MedExpress now operates 9 centers
throughout Tampa Bay and more than 50 centers nationwide.
MedExpress acquired the group of eight centers from DWIC in
January 2009. All of the re-branded centers will remain at their
current locations to continue serving the residents of Tampa Bay
and will officially change names to MedExpress in February
2011.
The Largo MedExpress, opening in the Largo Mall at the corner of
Ulmerton and Seminole will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a
week. MedExpress Urgent Care employs more than 200 people in
Tampa.
"The expansion of MedExpress within the Tampa region is a true
reflection to our approach of delivering timely, affordable,
high-quality urgent care," said MedExpress CEO Frank Alderman, MD.
"As with all our centers we are committed to exceeding the patient
experience, a philosophy we share with Doctor's Walk-In Clinic, and
look forward to becoming part of the Largo community."
In addition to the new location, MedExpress and Doctor's Walk-In
Clinic operate centers in Brandon, Carrollwood, Clearwater, Lutz,
New Tampa, Northside, Seffner and West Tampa.
