Longtime Tampa Health Care Provider Doctor's Walk-In Clinic Changing Name to MedExpress in February
December 1 2010
Doctor's Walk-In Clinic, a trusted urgent care provider in the
Tampa Bay market since 1980, will officially be re-named MedExpress
Urgent Care beginning in February 2011. MedExpress acquired the
group of eight centers in January 2009. The re-branded centers will
remain at their current locations to continue serving the residents
of Tampa Bay.
"The name is changing but the experience our patients have come
to expect at Doctor's Walk-In Clinic will still be there. At
MedExpress, we are focused on delivering great care fast," said
MedExpress CEO Frank Alderman, MD. "Our staff and medical teams
have long established a commitment to exceeding the expectations of
our patients by providing quality urgent care that is friendly,
convenient and affordable."
"It has been a joy to see our Tampa Bay clinics evolve and
progress as they have," said Doctor's Walk-In Clinic Medical
Director Kimberly Gibson, MD. "Ever since our partnership with
MedExpress began nearly two years ago, I knew we shared the same
values and held a mutual sense of responsibility to serve our
community. We are excited to be taking the next step and look
forward to the future."
The Tampa Bay area's inaugural MedExpress will open to patients
even before the other centers switch names. A brand new center will
open in the Largo Mall, 10500 Ulmerton Road, Suite 202, on December
16.
MedExpress Urgent Care is a full-service, walk-in health care
center, offering treatment for everyday illness and injury to all
ages. There is always a physician on duty, supported by a full
medical team. Doctor's Walk-In Clinic currently operates centers in
Brandon, Carrollwood, Clearwater, Lutz, New Tampa, Northside,
Seffner and West Tampa. Also in December MedExpress will be opening
a new center in Largo.
