Greenbrier County Native, MedExpress CEO Opens Newest Center in Lewisburg
February 17 2011
MedExpress Urgent Care, West Virginia's patient-centered urgent
care provider, opened its newest center today in Lewisburg. With
the opening of the new center, MedExpress now operates 10 centers
throughout West Virginia and more than 50 centers nationwide.
The new center is very close to White Sulphur Springs, WV, the
hometown of MedExpress' founder Dr. Frank Alderman. After attending
Greenbrier East High School, Dr. Alderman went on to earn a
bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a medical degree at West Virginia
University. He co-founded MedExpress in 2001 with the opening of
its first location in Morgantown, WV.
"MedExpress' core value of exceeding the patient's expectations
in a welcoming environment can be traced back to our roots. My
roots take me back here to Greenbrier County," said Dr. Alderman.
"We reinforce these values by delivering timely, affordable,
high-quality health care at all of our centers with an emphasis on
the patient's experience. I am excited to bring MedExpress to the
Lewisburg community and to Greenbrier County, an area that has done
so much for me."
To commemorate the occasion, MedExpress will make a $10,000
contribution to the Greenbrier County Schools' Wellness Committee.
All 13 schools in the county employ a coach who coordinates staff
and student wellness activities. This donation will help these
coaches educate their students and fellow staff on how to live
healthier lifestyles.
The Lewisburg MedExpress, at 1318 Jefferson Street North, Suite
A, will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. MedExpress
Urgent Care employs more than 500 people in West Virginia and last
year treated more than 253,000 people in the state. MedExpress
Urgent Care is a full-service, walk-in health care center, offering
treatment for everyday illness and injury to all ages. There is
always a physician on duty, supported by a full medical team. In
addition to the new location, MedExpress operates centers in
Beckley, Bridgeport, Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Princeton,
Parkersburg, South Charleston and Wheeling.
