Free Flu Shots as MedExpress Opens Milestone Urgent Care Center in Altoona
December 9 2010
MedExpress Urgent Care, Pennsylvania's patient-centered urgent
care provider, opened its newest center today in Altoona, PA. With
the opening of the new center, MedExpress now operates 22 urgent
care facilities throughout Pennsylvania and 50 centers
nationwide.
The Altoona MedExpress, at 300 East Plank Road, is open 9 a.m.
to 9 p.m., seven days a week. MedExpress Urgent Care employs more
than 500 people in Pennsylvania and last year treated more than
300,000 people in the state.
To mark the opening, MedExpress is now offering free flu shots
at its Altoona center through the end of the month.
"When we started MedExpress nearly 10 years ago we never thought
about one day opening 50 centers; we were thinking about treating
our next patient. That focus on our patients hasn't changed," said
MedExpress CEO Frank Alderman, MD. "We're certainly grateful for
the ability to treat so many people over the years, but I can tell
you the people in our Altoona center are focused on one thing -
exceeding their patients' expectations. We're going to bring
timely, affordable, high-quality urgent care to the people of this
great community."
MedExpress Urgent Care is a full-service, walk-in health care
center, offering treatment for everyday illness and injury to all
ages. There is always a physician on duty, supported by a full
medical team.
In addition to the new location, MedExpress operates centers in
Belle Vernon, Butler, Bloomfield, Center Township, Greensburg,
Johnstown, Mars, Meadville, Monroeville, Moon Township,
Murrysville, North Huntingdon, O'Hara Township, Pleasant Hills,
Ross Township, Scott Township, State College, Tarentum, Uniontown,
Upper St. Clair and Washington. Several more centers are planned
for 2010 and 2011.
